About Us
The United Pentecostal Church of Chelsea is one of the oldest existing Oneness Pentecostal churches in the state of Oklahoma. It is reputed to have been established in the year 1916. The Pentecostal Church in Chelsea became a member of the United Pentecostal Church International in the late 1940s.
The church has had a host of ministers and saints pass through its doors. It would be almost impossible to remember each name, because so many of the older saints and ministers have gone home. A few, however, who have been pastor over the past forty years include men like Bill Buster, Cliff Jones, John McDaniels, T. E. Shirel, Olen Shirel, Phillip Jones, and Leo Bible.
Then Brother Leo Faught came. Under his leadership a beautiful building was built in 1989. It is still being enjoyed by the current church family. After Pastor Faught's death came Andrew King, James Renfro, Norman Miller, and Glendon Nance. Bro. Kevin Erickson is the current pastor of the church.
The vision of the UPC of Chelsea is to teach, preach, and exemplify Bible truth, to live an overcoming Christian life, and to evangelize to the world around them.
